Julia Plocica joined the lab in 2021. She received her B.S. in Molecular and Cell Biology at Texas A&M University and plans to attend A&M’s College of Medicine in the fall of 2022. Her primary research interests in the de Figueiredo lab is to investigate the use of attenuated bacteria to treat autoimmune disorders and to further understand the mechanisms involved in microbial endosymbiotic relationships. By working in the lab, she hopes to gain experience and exposure to relevant research topics and lab techniques.
